Frequently Asked Questions About Last Place Trophies

What is a good last place trophy?

A good last place trophy is funny, impossible to hide and made to be displayed. The two classics are the toilet bowl trophy and the horse's rear trophy, which make the point without a word of explanation. For a wall award, the Loser Plaque works well. Leagues that want the shame to carry over year after year choose a perpetual trophy, which keeps every past loser's name on one trophy.

Toilet bowl or horse's rear: which loser trophy should I choose?

Both are fantasy league and office favorites, so pick the joke that fits your group. The toilet bowl trophy is the best-known last place award in fantasy football, while the horse's rear trophy is a classic for golf outings, bowling leagues and roasts. Both come in sizes from inexpensive budget trophies to large two-tier and championship versions, all with free engraving.

What should I engrave on a loser trophy?

Include the event or league name, the season and the loser's name, then add one line of humor, for example: "Sunday Funday League, 2026 Last Place, Mike Russo, Better Luck Next Year." Other popular lines are "Paid For My Own Punishment," "Dead Last and Proud of It" and "Most Improved (Couldn't Get Worse)." See our funny inscription ideas for more.

How does a perpetual last place trophy work?

A perpetual trophy passes from one loser to the next. Our Toilet Bowl Perpetual Trophy has a main plate for your league or event name and room for 32 small name plates, so you add the new last-place finisher each season. Additional engraved name plates are ordered separately when you need them.

Are these loser trophies only for fantasy football?

No. They are popular for fantasy football, basketball and baseball leagues, but also for golf outings, bowling leagues, office contests, family reunions, cornhole and poker nights. Any group with a friendly rivalry can use one. For league-specific picks, see our fantasy football, basketball and baseball trophy pages.
