Funny Trophies and Gag Awards - Celebrate Last Place in Style

Funny trophies turn the bottom of the standings into the most anticipated award of the season. Where a traditional trophy celebrates the winner, a well-chosen gag award celebrates the personality of a league, the camaraderie of a group, and the good humor of the person receiving it. Our collection centers on three iconic figures that have become staples of fantasy leagues, office competitions, and casual tournaments everywhere: the horse's rear, the toilet bowl, and the comic turkey, each available in a full range of sizes from budget participation trophies to towering two-tier championship gag trophies that demand to be photographed at the awards ceremony. Perpetual toilet bowl and comic turkey trophies add an extra layer of tradition, passing from last-place finisher to last-place finisher each season with new engraving adding to the trophy's running history. Every funny trophy includes free personalized engraving, so the joke is always specific to the recipient, the league, and the season, making each award a conversation piece rather than a generic gag gift.

Frequently Asked Questions About Funny Trophies

What occasions are funny trophies best suited for?

Funny trophies work best in any setting where competition is genuine but the social atmosphere is lighthearted and the group knows each other well enough to share a laugh at each other's expense. Fantasy football and fantasy baseball leagues are the most popular use case, particularly for last-place finishers who face a season of good-natured mockery from the rest of the league. Office competitions, friendly golf tournaments, bowling leagues, poker nights, and family game tournaments all benefit from a gag trophy that gives the event a running joke and something to talk about year after year. Bachelor and bachelorette parties sometimes use funny trophies for competitive games, and team-building events where the goal is as much laughter as friendly competition are a natural fit. The key in any setting is that everyone involved understands the intent is affectionate rather than mean-spirited, which is usually not a problem when the award comes with a well-engraved inside joke that only the group would understand.

What should I engrave on a funny trophy?

The engraving is where a funny trophy goes from a generic gag gift to a truly memorable award, so it is worth spending a few minutes getting it right. The best approach starts with the recipient's name and year to anchor the award in time, then adds a title or description that captures the specific reason they earned it. Generic options like Last Place, Fantasy Football 2025 or Worst Record, Office League 2025 are perfectly serviceable, but league-specific inside jokes land harder: Traded Away the League MVP, Still Thinks He Knows Football, or Picked a Kicker in Round 3 will get a bigger reaction at the ceremony and make the trophy more meaningful as a keepsake. For perpetual trophies that pass between recipients each season, each year's loser gets their own engraving line added to the trophy's growing history, which turns the award into a running record of the league's most memorable failures over time. Keep the tone consistent with how the group interacts, and when in doubt, specific and personal beats generic every time.

What size funny trophy should I order?

Trophy size matters more for gag awards than almost any other category because the visual impact at the presentation ceremony is a big part of the joke. A tiny budget participation trophy handed to last place with great ceremony gets a laugh, but a towering two-tier gag trophy carried into the room gets a bigger one. For casual groups and office settings where the award will sit on a desk, the single column and double platform sizes in the 12-inch to 18-inch range strike the right balance between impressive and absurd. For fantasy leagues that have developed real traditions around the last-place award, the two-tier and three-column championship gag trophies in the 20-inch-plus range create the kind of moment that the league talks about for years. Perpetual trophies are worth the investment for leagues that have been running for several years and want an award that accumulates history rather than starting fresh each season. Budget participation trophies work well for large groups where everyone gets a funny award in a different category, keeping the cost manageable while still giving each person something specific and personal.
