What Should I Engrave on a Trophy?

At minimum, include the recipient's name, the achievement or award title, your organization name, and the year. These four elements create a complete, meaningful trophy inscription that tells the story of the recognition.

The Essential Elements

Every trophy should answer these basic questions:

• Who? The recipient's name (first and last for most awards)
• What? The achievement or award title ("MVP," "Employee of the Month," "1st Place")
• Where/Who From? Your organization, team, or league name
• When? The year or specific date

How Much Text Can Fit?

Most trophy plates accommodate 3 lines of text, with each line holding about 20-30 characters depending on letter size. Some trophies can accommodate more lines - see the actual product page for specific details. Keep your wording concise - you want it readable from a few feet away. If you have a longer message, consider adding a separate recognition certificate alongside the trophy.

Optional Additions

Space permitting, you can add:

• A brief achievement description ("Leading Scorer - 28 Goals")
• A motivational quote or motto
• Team record or final score
• Coach or presenter signature line
