Custom Medals - Personalized Awards for Sports, Schools, and Organizations

Custom medals transform a standard award into a personalized keepsake that recipients connect directly to their specific achievement, team, or event. Where stock medals offer a generic design that works for any occasion, custom medals feature your organization's logo, your event name, your team colors, or your own artwork on the face of the medal, creating something participants will keep and display long after the competition ends. TrophyCentral offers multiple custom medal formats to fit different budgets, timelines, and design goals, from fast-shipping mylar insert medals ideal for leagues that need a quick turnaround to full color printed medals and die-cast options featuring your complete custom artwork. Every custom medal includes a free neck ribbon, and gold, silver, and bronze finishes allow programs to present a complete podium set with consistent branding across all three levels of recognition.

Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Medals

What is the difference between the custom medal options?

Custom mylar insert medals are the fastest and most affordable option, featuring a printed paper or mylar disc inserted into a standard medal frame. You submit your logo, artwork, or event design and it prints in full color on the insert, making this style ideal for leagues and tournaments that need a personalized medal quickly and in volume. Full color custom medals print your design directly onto the medal surface in vibrant color, producing a more polished finished product appropriate for events where presentation quality matters. Custom artwork medals use your submitted design to create a medal where the imagery is cast or etched into the medal itself rather than printed, resulting in a more premium, dimensional look suited for flagship events, championships, and corporate recognition programs. Custom ring medals take a different approach, featuring a sport-specific design on the medal face with your school, team, or organization name printed around the outer ring, making them a great middle-ground option that adds personalization without requiring a full custom design submission. Choosing between these formats comes down to budget, timeline, and how prominently your branding needs to appear on the finished medal.

What artwork or information can I include on a custom medal?

Custom medals accommodate a wide range of personalization depending on the format selected. Logo-forward designs work well for organizations that want their crest, mascot, or brand mark as the centerpiece of the medal, making the award immediately identifiable as belonging to a specific league, school, or company. Event-specific designs incorporate the tournament or competition name, year, and location, turning the medal into a commemorative piece that captures a specific moment rather than a generic achievement. Sport or activity imagery combined with organization text suits multi-division tournaments where the same medal design is used across age groups, with consistent branding tying the full event together. For the back of the medal, optional engraving adds individual recipient names, place finishes, or division details that make each medal specific to the person receiving it. When submitting artwork, high-resolution vector files produce the sharpest results, though most custom medal options accept standard image formats. If you do not have a logo or finished design, our team can assist with basic layout to get your event information formatted correctly for production.

How far in advance should I order custom medals?

Custom mylar insert medals ship within 3 to 8 business days after order placement and artwork approval, making them practical even for events planned on a shorter timeline. Full color custom medals typically require 8 business days of production time after artwork is approved. Custom artwork medals with cast or etched designs involve a longer production window, so ordering several weeks ahead is advisable for those styles, particularly for large quantities. For any custom medal order, the artwork approval step is the most important factor in hitting your deadline: submitting clean, print-ready files at the time of ordering eliminates back-and-forth and keeps production on schedule. Ordering 3 to 4 weeks before your event date provides a comfortable buffer for most custom styles while still allowing time to address any artwork questions. For very large orders or events with fixed dates like championship weekends or graduation ceremonies, reaching out early gives you the most options in terms of medal style, quantity, and any special requests.
