Blank Medals for Engraving - Personalized Awards for Any Occasion

Blank medals offer maximum flexibility for leagues, schools, and organizations that need a clean award surface ready for any text, logo, or artwork. Where sport-specific medals feature a pre-set design, blank medals let your engraving or custom insert do the talking, making them practical for activities outside mainstream sports, multi-event programs recognizing diverse achievements, and organizations that want their name or logo as the centerpiece of the award. Choose from plain engraving styles for straightforward text personalization, rim-print designs that add your event name around the outer edge, and logo insert options that incorporate full color artwork into a polished medal frame. Gold and silver frame finishes with black or gold engraving plate options allow coordinators to match existing award sets or establish a consistent look across an entire recognition program.

Frequently Asked Questions About Blank Medals

What is a blank medal and when should I choose one?

A blank medal has a plain front surface personalized through engraving, imprinting, or a custom insert rather than a pre-cast sport or activity design. They are the right choice when the organization or event name should be the primary focus, when the activity does not have a dedicated sport-specific medal available, or when the same medal design needs to work across multiple activities at a single event. Schools presenting engravable medals across a wide range of subjects at one ceremony often choose blank medals for consistency, as do charity runs, corporate recognition programs, and community events where event branding matters more than activity imagery.

What are my personalization options for blank medals?

Standard engraving medals accept text directly on the front face, with gold text on a black plate or black text on a gold plate available depending on the model. Rim personalization adds your school, organization, or event name around the outer ring for a polished branded look. Logo insert styles incorporate a full color artwork disc into the center of the medal frame, and the epoxy dome insert option adds a protective raised coating for a premium finished appearance. For large events, engraving recipient names and award details on the back is an efficient way to personalize at scale while keeping the front design consistent across all recipients.

What sizes and finishes are available for blank medals?

Blank medals are available in 1-1/4 inch and larger sizes depending on the style selected. Smaller medals suit large participation events where volume and affordability are priorities, while larger medals make a stronger visual impact for featured award categories. Gold frames are the traditional choice for top achievement recognition while silver frames work well for second-place awards or programs preferring a consistent look across all levels. Engraving plate choices, gold text on black or black text on gold, allow further customization within each frame style. All blank medals include a free neck ribbon.
